The Art of Vinyl: Turning a Record into a Work of Art
23 mars 2026

Vinyl is my second favorite medium (after the skateboard deck, obviously!) There's something magical about giving a second life to an object that already carried music, art! Of course, I check the collector's value before customizing it and above all, I never touch the Francis Lalanne ones! Forbidden!
The process
It all starts with choosing the record. I look for vinyls with a beautiful patina, a history. Our old French music box hides little gems that only a true collector like my father could have in his cabinet.
Then comes the sketch — I draw directly on the vinyl with pencil first. Then the acrylic comes into play, layer by layer, color by color.
Worth noting: each of my drawings is done freehand, mixing existing characters with entirely made-up situations!
Pop culture meets music
Vinyl is already a cultural object. Adding an iconic character to it — Homer Simpson, a rock band, Krusty — creates a dialogue between two worlds of pop culture. That's what I'm passionate about.
